RECIPE
Step One: Apply two coats of Pratt and Lambert
Accolade Velvet Finish tinted to #1680 Fig. Let
paint dry for several hours.
Step Two: Most any glaze or latex varnish can be
used to do this technique, including Ralph Lauren Technique
Glaze, Pratt and Lambert Latex Glaze, Pratt and Lambert Oil
Glaze, Polyvine Scumble and Polyvine Classic Colour Effects.
Mix your glaze and paint in equal parts to begin. For a more
subtle finish, add more glaze to the mixture. In this case,
we have used Accolade Velvet #2081 Ginger Whip and
Accolade Velvet #1678 Passion Flower.
Step Three: Pour your glaze mixture into a shallow
container (you won't need much for this technique).
Dip one side of a moistened feather duster into the mixture.
Blot excess glaze onto a piece of cardboard. Now gently touch
the feather duster to the surface (try to avoid smearing
the paint). It is best to turn your duster each time you
dab the wall. This makes the pattern you are creating more
random. Cover the entire wall with this color. (If you
work with a friend, remember that everyone's technique is
somewhat different. Consider having each person do one colour
for consistency).
Step Four: Repeat step three using your second colour.
(Remember to stand back to make sure your pattern is even).
Step Five: Stand Back and Admire!
