RED LACQUER
J's Designs - Faux Red Lacquer

This is a rich, opulent, high-gloss effect.

RECIPE

Step One: Apply two coats of Pratt and Lambert Accolade Velvet finish tinted to #1014 Chelsea Prize. Let paint dry for at least four hours.

Step Two: Mix a glaze of four parts Polyvine Scumble with one part Pratt and Lambert Accolade Velvet #1897 Algerian.

Step Three: Rub the glaze into the surface using a circular motion.

Step Four: Add a drop of burnt umber colorant to the glaze and repeat step three.

Step Five: Continue steps three and four until you achieve a subtle aged finish (about three times)

Step Six: Mix Fabulon Crystal II Gloss finish with a drop of burnt umber. Using a painting pad, apply the mixture to the surface. Allow to dry. Sand with fine sandpaper all but the final caot. Repeat until the surface achieves a high gloss.
